Crest of the Stars and Banner of the Stars:

In this anime, there are two main characters: Jinto, a boy who's planet got overtaken by the human empire Ahb who became instant nobility as his father was the president who surrendered, and Lafiel, a Princess of one of the main families of the Ahb empire.

In this anime, there was quick, and effective character development. There was also plenty of epic tales of their adventures together. In this epic adventure, it shows how we are not as different as we may think. The Ahb like to refer to themselves as "The kin of the stars" and the rest of the universe has either been conquered by them or "The united mankind" or other earthly nations. This series reminds me of a world war II story mixed in with a little Romeo and Juliet... but in space. Most of the torrents I found for this came in mkv format and already had both english and japanese audio and english subtitles for customization.

All in all, I really liked this epic science fiction anime but the animation styles are a little outdated.
